Notes from the Authors and Copyright Information

Greetings, and thank you all so much for following and reading our blog!

The stories about City-State are very special to Kaisy and me.  This dystopian world is full of debauchery, sin, violence, and betrayal – and that’s just the beginning.   Additionally, we LOVE feedback!  Kaisy and I want to know what you think regarding our short pieces.  We accept constructive feedback – positive or negative.  So yes, please feel free to leave a comment concerning content, style, and plot information.

On this blog, you will see “The Novice”, one short story from our upcoming publication, an anthology of short pieces that focus on the residents and their hardships in the nation of City-State.  James and I plan to publish this anthology in early 2015.

Additionally, we are working on a trilogy (which is connected to the anthology).  The trilogy is entitled StarChild, and we hope that this novel set will be published in a year or two.  Please enjoy the excerpt from Book One: StarChild.  It is located at the top of the page adjacent to “The Novice”.

On this page, we are going to share a few newsworthy items.

First and foremost:

4/14/14: James and I are (will be) featured on Rachel Stirling’s writing blog tour.  Please check out the various authors who will participate in this writing extravaganza: stirlingwriter.wordpress.com.

4/5/2014:  Check out our latest interview with Katheryn Lane, an avid reader and Romance author!

*James and I would like to thank Katheryn for the opportunity to be featured on her blog!

1/21/2014: Kaisy and I prepared a special City-State short as a guest blog on another site, Dancing with Fireflies.  The story will be called “The Sacrifice”, and it takes place on Layer Five of City-State, the most barbaric and foul place in the entire city.  That is all for now…

1/29/2014: We will be featured in an interview on Valerie Rian‘s WordPress blog.

Plus, we have been featured regularly on The Geek Review.

Thank you all for following and reading!  If you desire, please return to the beginning of the blog (November 2013). The stories and small transition pieces are written and recorded in chronological order. If something seems “out of place”, a storyline or a specific character will transition from previous narratives.

Thanks! There is always more to come from the horrific nation of City-State!

James and Kaisy

  2. Thanks for visiting my art blog http://latinvulgate.wordpress.com and I’m glad you enjoyed one of the composite images I created. After reviewing your site a little, I have learned a little about sharing writing projects via blog. I personally used mine as a first draft post and as an incentive for a while -and it worked, a little. Although it’s dormant for now, the results (for good bad or ugly) can be found at http://tenminutefiction.wordpress.com. Ugh. I hate cross-posting things, but I thought, given the nature of this blog, you might enjoy some of the things there. Thanks again for visiting me and good luck with promoting your work.

  3. Thank you for visiting my blog … I love seeing what other writers are doing out there. 🙂 Best of luck to you guys … I’ve always had a secret dream of writing with a co-author, and I think it’s kinda fantastic that the two of you are working together to do what you do. Actually, I’m a little jealous. 😉 Stop by again soon!

    1. Hello! Thanks for visiting! 🙂

Writing with a partner is exciting, plus, if you are stuck, you have another brain to get you “out of the ditch”. James and I are lucky – we work well together, and we compromise on many ideas.

      Please enjoy City-State – there’s a lot more to come! 🙂

  4. Hi! Thanks for following my blog and liking one of my post! I’ve had a little tour around your blog and I’m happy to see that your sci-fi works are not filled with teenage-romance. I mean, I don;t hate those kinds but there’s just so many. And your works are a breath of fresh air. 🙂
