Notes from the Authors and Copyright Information

Greetings, and thank you all so much for following and reading our blog!

The stories about City-State are very special to Kaisy and me.  This dystopian world is full of debauchery, sin, violence, and betrayal – and that’s just the beginning.   Additionally, we LOVE feedback!  Kaisy and I want to know what you think regarding our short pieces.  We accept constructive feedback – positive or negative.  So yes, please feel free to leave a comment concerning content, style, and plot information.

On this blog, you will see “The Novice”, one short story from our upcoming publication, an anthology of short pieces that focus on the residents and their hardships in the nation of City-State.  James and I plan to publish this anthology in early 2015.

Additionally, we are working on a trilogy (which is connected to the anthology).  The trilogy is entitled StarChild, and we hope that this novel set will be published in a year or two.  Please enjoy the excerpt from Book One: StarChild.  It is located at the top of the page adjacent to “The Novice”.

On this page, we are going to share a few newsworthy items.

First and foremost:

4/14/14: James and I are (will be) featured on Rachel Stirling’s writing blog tour.  Please check out the various authors who will participate in this writing extravaganza: stirlingwriter.wordpress.com.

4/5/2014:  Check out our latest interview with Katheryn Lane, an avid reader and Romance author!

*James and I would like to thank Katheryn for the opportunity to be featured on her blog!

1/21/2014: Kaisy and I prepared a special City-State short as a guest blog on another site, Dancing with Fireflies.  The story will be called “The Sacrifice”, and it takes place on Layer Five of City-State, the most barbaric and foul place in the entire city.  That is all for now…

1/29/2014: We will be featured in an interview on Valerie Rian‘s WordPress blog.

Plus, we have been featured regularly on The Geek Review.

Thank you all for following and reading!  If you desire, please return to the beginning of the blog (November 2013). The stories and small transition pieces are written and recorded in chronological order. If something seems “out of place”, a storyline or a specific character will transition from previous narratives.

Thanks! There is always more to come from the horrific nation of City-State!

  1. Thanks so much for stopping by and following my blog! Sci-fi is my favorite genre and yet nothing I write seems to work for it! I can’t wait to read more of your “dystopian vision”.

  2. Someone told me that you have just become one of The Spikey’s, that small clan of folk known to be followers of Uncle Spike 🙂

Thank you… I really appreciate that as I for one, know how many interesting and entertaining blogs are out there.

My aim is to deliver an eclectic offering of posts, from my ‘point n shoot’ attempts at photography, to the sharing of my travel adventures since the 70′s, as well as day to day happenings on the farm. Oh, plus a few observations on life as I see it. Of course, if you have any suggestions for me, I’d love to hear from you, serious.

In return, I promise not to be overbearing with perhaps 2-3 posts a day tops. But if you are at a loose end one day, maybe you’ll enjoy trawling through some of my older stuff too. I have added plenty of categories to help in said digging process.

Thanks again for your vote of confidence, and hope you have a great day…

  4. Hi! I’m so glad you visited and decided to follow my blog on: http://randalane.wordpress.com
“Randa Lane…” is primarily devoted to haiku, tanka, and other short verse forms. I’ve just begun to explore your site and find your writing very impressive. I look forward to reading your sci-fi posts although I confess I haven’t read much SF since Heinlein passed away eons ago!

  9. Hi! Thanks so much for the follow on my blog! I’m loving what I’ve read so far here. Sci-fi and fantasy are two genres that have become favorites over the past year or two (been expanding the horizons). 🙂

I currently have two blogs, this one which is focused more on my life recovering from a hemorrhagic stroke in 2011 and one that’s more about my writing journey http://lilicasplace.com. I’m doing NaNo under my other blog’s pen name, but celebrate the accomplishments here, if that makes sense. Later on when I sign on to Facebook, I’ll be sure to like your page from both my pages.

If you look for lilicasplace on NaNo, make sure to friend me. Thanks so much!!

    1. Hello! Thanks for commenting! I followed your lilicasplace blog. It look very interesting! Good luck on NaNo! My writing partner and I are “going rogue” – we are not starting a new novel… we are continuing with are current projects, hence the blog. James and I post every Sunday, and we post about our progression with City-State. We hope you enjoy our rough drafting!
